About Allplan Precast CAD software

Allplan is the CAD system from Nemetschek for Architects, Engineers and Precast companies in doing their daily job concerning modeling and creation of drawings. Allplan is fully dedicated to the building industry. All disciplines are combined in one software!

Allplan is a full 2D and 3D CAD system (Hybrid) that can be used for making 2D drawings and/or full 3D models. Allplan is fully compatible with cad systems like AutoCAD, Microstation. For exchanging 3D building models Allplan is supporting IFC. With that we can import models made with e.g. Revit or ADT (Architectural desktop). But also exporting of the models made in Allplan is possible.

Other formats like PDF, Sketchup and Cinema 4D are supported.

For the engineering companies and the precast industry there are two packages available: Allplan Engineering and Allplan Precast.

Allplan Precast is an extension on top of Allplan Engineering. Allplan Engineering is used for cast in situ concrete. Allplan Precast is extending this with highly automated tools for generating precast elements incl. production drawings and production steering. More about Allplan Engineering.

The Relation between Allplan Engineering and Allplan Precast software

Allplan Engineering is the tool for modeling and reinforcing all kind of structures like houses, office buildings, bridges and tunnels. There are hardly any limitations to the kind of shapes: straight, curved, prismatic and non-prismatic all is possible. There has been spent a lot of effort for the localization of this software for the different countries, local standards and even for individual companies. The reinforcement can be done with bars or meshes. Also a lot of parametric components are available for increasing the speed of modeling. Parametric components for e.g. beams, columns, stairs and openings.

Allplan Engineering can also be used in the prefab industry. If a prefab company is producing specific elements like solid walls, lattice girder slabs, hollow-core, twin walls, massive walls, sandwich wall, … we can increase the efficiency. By using dedicated modules for specific kind of elements we are e.g. able to divide automatically an architectural wall into precast elements. The software will also generate automatically the joints, the basis reinforcement, the lifting bolts, cast-in nuts for temporary props. But also for so-called structural elements (beams, columns, stairs, balconies, …). Allplan Precast is offering a lot special features needed for the precast industry: recognition of equal part, automatic generation of production drawings, data for production like laser projection, plotters etc.

Highlights of the Allplan Precast CAD Software

  • Bi-directional link between drawings and model. E.g. changes in production drawings will update the 3D Model automatically and vice versa.
  • We recognize equal elements. If we change one all others will be adapted accordingly
  • Changes in production drawings are kept when copying elements
  • We support mesh welding robots like Progress, AWM and Filzmoser.
  • Generation of formwork from the 3D model and supporting 5-axis milling machines to cut the pieces from plywood.
